Vic: Bideau received money from joint Freeman trust, court told

The Victorian Supreme Court's been told that NICK BIDEAU, the former manager and partner
of Olympic gold medallist CATHY FREEMAN, borrowed more than $500,000 from a trust account
of which he and FREEMAN were the beneficiaries.

BIDEAU and business partner PETER JESS, owners of the company Melbourne International
Track Club, are suing FREEMAN for breach of contract after she split with them in May.

FREEMAN is countersuing for $2 million.

She froze the remaining funds in the Cathy Freeman Enterprises Trust, of which she
and BIDEAU are beneficiaries, after BIDEAU applied to have a receiver appointed.

The case was adjourned today until February 9 to give both parties opportunity to make
counterclaims, with a full hearing expected in April.

But papers lodged in the court two days ago show the CFE has made payments to -- or
on behalf of -- BIDEAU as loans to him amounting to $541,081.

CFE is demanding the repayment of the money as well as interest.
