Tas: Howard dismisses industrial relations protests

JOHN HOWARD has again laughed off protests over workplace reform .. with up to 100
unionists lobbying outside the Liberals state conference in Hobart today.

It follows angry confrontations at the prime minister's engagements in northern Tasmania
yesterday.

But Mr HOWARD's dismissed signs calling for protection of your rights at work.

He's told the conference .. the first right at work is to have a job.

And he says on that test .. the current government is the fairest Australia's had in 30 years.

Mr HOWARD says unemployment is at 30-year lows .. and there have been 159 thousand
jobs created since the introduction of Work Choices legislation.

The PM says a strong economy is the greatest guarantee of job security.
