Fed: Terror group should be listed: Brandis

Shadow attorney-general GEORGE BRANDIS says the Somali-based al-Shabaab group should
be listed as a terrorist group in Australia.

He says he's surprised it's not already on the list .. with five men facing charges
of plotting a suicide attack on Sydney's Holsworthy barracks after counter-terrorism raids
in Melbourne last week.

Al-Shabaab has been proscribed in the US for 18 months.

Senator BRANDIS has told Sky News he thinks Attorney-General ROBERT MCCLELLAND is dragging
his feet on counter terrorism policy.
